About Quang Huy – Guitarist

Welcome to the official page of Tran Quang Huy, a passionate guitarist, music educator, and performer known for his dedication to crafting beautiful music and inspiring others to find their voice through the guitar.

Passion for Music

As a student of HCMC Conservatory Of Music under the guidance of guitarist Nguyen Thanh Huy, he took part in several classical guitar competitions in Vietnam and around South East Asia regularly.
In November 2017, he got the 1st prize at a competition in Saigon International Guitar Festival. In 2018, he got a 1st prize (duo category) from CGO Guitar Competition 2018 ( Thailand).

Tran Quang Huy represented his Conservatory as an international exchange student from special cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory Of Music (Vietnam) and College of Music, Mahidol University (Thailand). He worked with Dr. Paul Cesarczyk at Mahidol University for his Bachelor degree.

Trần Quang Huy is an outstanding guitarist active in Southeast Asia. He has performed in various locations in Vietnam, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Gia Lai, and Can Tho. He also gave a lecture and performance at Bunditpatanasilpa Institute of Fine Arts – Bangkok, as well as performed at Silpakorn University and at guitar festivals such as the South East Asia Guitar Festival & Performance Awards 2023 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), South East Asia Guitar Festival & Performance Awards 2024 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Saigon International Guitar Festival 2024 (Vietnam), Fine Classical Music Autumn 2024 (Phnompenh-Cambodia)

  • Second Prize (without the 1 st place) at Hanoi Open Guitar Competition  (Vietnam) 2012.
  • Fourth Place at Altamira International Competition (Thailand) 2013.
  • Consolation Prize at Tarrega International Guitar Festival and Competition (Malaysia) 2016.
  • First Prize at Saigon International Guitar Festival (Vietnam) 2017.
  • Second Prize at Pattaya Classical Guitar Festival and Competition (Thailand) 2017.
  • First Prize for Duo Category, CGO Guitar Competition (played with Phoonatee Thakam- Thailand) (Thailand) 2018.
  • Special Reward of the year, South East Asia Guitar Festival & Performance Awards (Thailand) 2018.
  • First Prize of Saigon International Guitar Festival & Competition with his quintet “The Five” 2019.
  • Third Prize – Asia International Guitar Festival & Competition 2022.
